Sarah Barber
Why I am a stylist:
I'm a big kid!  I love to cut and color and am thrilled that I can have a job
doing what I love.  I was always the kid who made snowflakes out of paper -
even in the summer.

What you need to know about me:
I love my job.  I do my best to listen to the clients and make them happy.  I
figure the client is really my boss; so, if the client isn't happy, then I am not happy.

About ELEMENTS:
Deb and I started this salon in 2005 after we both had worked at places that
held us back.  We wanted a place that everyone will feel comfortable with.
We love the bright colors and open floor plan.  We hope this will leave you
feeling calm and relaxed.

About me:
I have lived in Springfield for 7 years and have loved every minute of it.  It's a
great city because of it's size.  Big enough for cultural events and small enough to
feel like a hometown.

Favorite TV:
Anything Sci-Fi, Stargate, Eureka, or things on USA - Burn Notice, The 4400,
The Dead Zone, Psych.  Also Doctor Who and Kyle XY (it's my secret fave - it's
supposed to be for teenagers I think).

My Education and Work History:
I went to  Beauty School a little later in life.  I went to college for 3 years,
then later decided on Beauty School.  I went to Mr. John's School of Cosmetology
in Champaign.  I only went part time, so it took 2 years.  When people ask me
how long I have been working, I always include one year of school because I
went so long.
Then I worked in a small salon that was on campus at the U of I.  I loved it
because I got to interact with people from all over the world.  I even had 2 clients
from Iceland!  I was sad to leave, but it worked out for the best.
Here in Springfield, I worked for 2 different places before heading out on my
own.  (It was more like pushed, but I'm glad it happened.)

4 Favorite Things:
      1.  Any new beauty supply - like hair products, makeup and such.  I love
working with new products.
      2.  Reading - I love reading and usually have 3-4 books going at one time.
I'm one of those people who read Harry Potter in 2 days!
      3. Animals - mostly cats, but I think I could be talked into a dog if I found the
right one.
      4. Watermelons - I know it sounds strange, but they are my favorite thing to
eat, decorate with - everything - my clients always find me stuff!
